Baby Is Already Growing

15 weeks down . . .

It Is Finished . . .

. . . and I am so pleased! It was a lot of work but the walls are painted, the floor is finished and the furniture is moved in! The sewing/crafting room is now operational! Matthew did a great job on the floors and I love it! Feel free to come craft with me now!

Escape Plea

Some time ago, Emily went to her room for some quiet reading time. It is not uncommon for her to read for an hour if she gets into a good book, so I wasn't concerned when she didn't come downstairs after  some time. After about an hour and a half had passed, I decided to interrupt her reading so we could do a craft project together. As I got to the top of the stairs, I saw that her door was shut and this note (shown in the photo) was written on an envelope, and slid under her door into the hall where I could see it. I then realized that her long absence was not the result of a very good book, but rather the fact that her door was stuck. As soon as I rescued her from her room, we had a good laugh. : )

December fun and laughs

I love that Matthew hangs up his clothes, and that he is resourceful, and that he makes me laugh!! When I was hanging clothes in his closet I noticed this small plastic hanger. I pulled it out, wondering how it had found its way to his closet. It was then that I realized it was intentionally put there! I couldn't help but laugh!! Notice the label on the hanger below.
This is what you do when you are waiting for your new mattress to be delivered!

This is Megan, with her new doll, Violet. Thank you, Aunt Julie and family, for the adorable dresses!!

Christmas Surprises

Well, here are a few snapshots from our family Christmas.

The first few photos are from Emily's Christmas piano recital. She had treated us with music for the past few months, and we have loved hearing her play so much! She has loved learning Christmas carols!

For Christmas, Emily got some new boots and Megan got a doll she really wanted. I loved Megan's reaction! Thanks to their aunt Julie, they both have new dresses to coordinate with their dolls!

Matthew took some photos of the girls in their Christmas dresses after the Christmas eve service at our church. We were so proud of them for performing. Emily played Jingle Bells on the piano, and Megan sang with her. I only wish I had remembered the video camera!!!!

First Blog

I have wanted to start blogging for a long time because I always enjoy following the blogs of my friends. I hope I can keep up with one more thing!!

This month has been wonderfully busy with different activities that remind us of how one single baby changed the world. One of our favorite family times this month has been reading an advent story each evening together. It is a fictional story about a young man named Jotham who is traveling to Jerusalem in search of his family, and the many exciting adventures his journey takes him on.

Blessings to all of you at this wonderful time of year.
